When we entered the room, it smelled of sewer from the sink, so the initial experience was underwhelming. Dusty light fixtures, dust on the cups by the coffee machine in the room. Other than that, it was good. Our Netflix account connected to the TV just fine. The bed was very comfy. New Years Eve festivities were abound, but it was still relatively quiet in our room. The shower was nice. Enjoyed walking around and seeing the art. The next morning we had breakfast, and it was the best breakfast we have ever had at a hotel. The gym was convenient. The staff were friendly. Overall, it was enjoyable.
Beautiful hotel with an awesome history. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Walking distance to many places in the city. Parking ramp across the street with frequent security monitoring. The art work and moving penguins were enjoyable.
We stayed at 21c in Cincinnati and absolutely loved it! We were so excited when we found one in Kansas City-unfortunately this fell far below our expectations. Not only was it in an unsafe part of the city -it was like a ghost town-with absolutely nothing to do near the hotel.
The staff had a difficult time checking us in and seemed like they were napping when we arrived and couldn’t be bothered. Very unprofessional. The rooms were old and musty smelling. Old rotted sink in our bathroom. Did not have a clean hotel feeling. We were quite embarrassed as we had raved big time about this hotel to our family who was also staying here.
Overall quite dissatisfied and unfortunately will not be back.
I loved being surrounded by so many beautiful works of art! The Kehinde Wiley portrait by the registration desk was my favorite piece. Also, the penguins …
Definitely stay here! For about the same price as a boring cookie cutter you get to stay in a stylish well maintained historical building that's also an amazing pop art gallery spanning from the lolly all the way up into the second floor.
Everything is well maintained and clean. The rooms are spacious and handsomely decorated. Little details like a closet light that turns on automatically when the door is opened, a shower faucet that is placed so that you don't get sprayed by cold water when you turn on the shower.
The attention to detail when it comes to lighting is better than I've ever seen at any other hotel.
- The closet has a light and is automatic.
- All lights can be dimmed at the light switch
- The dimmable bedside lamps are bright white when full on and turn a warmer color as they are dimmed to simulate sunset so you don't have this dim pale blue glowing light next to you when you dim it...
Amazing this place is awesome check it out
No - I was sad that we did not have an extra day to just hang around and enjoy the hotel and go for dinner at the Savoy.
Our room was incredibly hot each night and we never got confirmation it was looked at. The staff does not seem empowered to take care of their guests. It seemed like we were bothering the front desk when we called. I will not be staying …
From the moment of check in to check out, the experience was awesome! The front desk personnel were very welcoming and knowledgeable. Check in and check out were fast and easy and the food was absolutely amazing! Location cant be beat as it is located in the heart of Kansas City and within walking distance of everything. Strongly recommend staying here.
